If you are ever in Enterprise, Alabama and get hungry for some good southern cooking the best place to go is PoFolks™ restaurant at 650 Boll Weevil Circle.

This restaurant offers large portions of hearty, home-style cooking at very modest prices. Both booths and tables are available, and they also have one of the largest private dining areas that I have found in Enterprise. The PoFolks’™ staff are just full of that good old country hospitality.

For handicapped customers, the handicapped parking spaces are right in front of the entrance. The dining area has aisles wide enough for walkers, wheelchairs and electric scooters.

Two of my favorite menu items are their fried chicken and their country fried steak. All of the dinners on the menu com with your choice of two vegetables and either a bread stick, cornbread, hush puppies or a biscuit. This PoFolks™ has over 18 different home-style vegetables, to include fried green tomatoes and the best turnip greens you ever put in your mouth. If you prefer, you can order an entrée with three of their deliciously prepared vegetables.

The chicken arrives at your table so hot that it can burn your fingers if you are not careful. How many restaurants can you say that about? The crust is crispy and spiced just right. The chicken is juicy and, I got to tell you, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. You can also have the country-fried steak. You get two giant pieces of tender beefsteak rolled in their special breading and fried up golden brown and served with plenty of rich creamy white gravy. If you don’t think you can eat two steaks, you can order just one.

Other entrée that PoFolks™ offers include beef liver, chicken livers or gizzards, southern style chicken and dumplings, fish and shrimp, delicious sandwiches and much more.

Have you ever taken your kids to a restaurant and the only thing on the kid’s menu was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or a chicken leg? The PoFolks™ menu isn’t at all like that. Your kids can get shrimp, chicken tenders, country-fried steak and French fries, chicken leg, burger, corn dog, macaroni and cheese, chicken and dumplings, and a fantastic dessert.

If you are looking for chicken take-out you won’t find anything better than the PoFolks™ Picnic Basket Special. You can order either 8 pieces or 16 pieces of their award-winning chicken plus you get coleslaw, baked beans, fresh-baked biscuits and a gallon of their delicious iced tea.

Your PoFolks™ take-out order is usually ready quickly, but if they are busy it could take longer than you expected. I promise you their food is well worth the wait.

If you are looking for something a little lighter to eat-in or take-out try one of their salads. You can get a small “Garden Patch Salad”, the larger “Your Choice Salad”, or if you are really hungry, “The Whole Shebang Salad”. All of the salads come with your choice of dressing and a bread stick. If I were you, I would order at least four more of their delicious hot bread sticks.

The PoFolks restaurant in Enterprise, Alabama offers good old-fashioned southern style food, a warm country atmosphere and southern hospitality.
