One of the most interesting facets of "The Visionaries"cartoon was the use of power staves.Though limited to a one time use per recharge, they wield great power that could turn the tide of battle. The drawback is that these have to be brought back to Iron Mountain to be recharged. Here is information on the power staves of the Spectral Knights.
-Leoric was given the power of wisdom. The owl of wisdom seems to be a good plot device but is not as practical or as powerful as other staves. It often gives vague advice. It has even been called a "bad power"staff." To summon it one utters "Whispered secrets of a shattered age, I summon you: renew this sage!" This is my least favorite staff of the four as I deem it useless. All it does is utter some fancy words.
-Arzon was given the power of knowledge. The bearer of knowledge has proven quite useful almost every time it was summoned in the cartoon series except when it was disrupted by Abraxas, the wizard imp. It was able to tell the Spectral Knights about a spring that restores youth and about a damsel in distress being the evil Virulina. This is one very useful staff when strategizing or when you are stumped. To summon it one utters "A whim, a thought, and more is sought. Awake my mind; thy will be wrought!" This is my favorite staff out of the four as it is in my opinion the most useful of all four staves.
-Witterquick was given the power of light speed. This is somehow redundant as his totem is already a cheetah which is the fastest land animal on Prismos.Nevertheless, light speed could be used as both a one-time offense weapon or as a means of escape. To summon it one utters "Sheathe these feet in the driving gale, Make swift these legs o'er land I sail!" This staff is pretty decent but was only used effectively twice. First was to save Leoric from being stuck as a red lion. Second was when Cryotek stole it and used it to assault the Darkling Lords.
-Cryotek was given the power of strength. This is represented by an archer with a mighty arrow. To summon it one utters "Three suns aligned pour forth their light and fill the archer's bow with might!" This however only has one shot and has often been foiled by Lexor's forcefield.
