The full title of this product is Turtle WAX Platinum series Performance Car wash. This is a bit of a mouthful, but I can thoroughly recommend it. This company also makes an "ordinary" car wash, but the Platinum series is the best I have ever come across.
My history of employment includes car valeting, so I know all the best products. In the industry, the best products are not necessarily the ones that work the best, but are the ones that produce the best results based on cost, ease of use, and the finished result. I have used many of these products, at both ends of the scale, but I am convinced that this Platinum series by Turtle WAX is the best value car wash on the market. It gives good results without paying the earth.
I usually buy plastic bottles containing half a litre, these cost me £6.49 (or £7.30 with a "free" Magic Tree car air freshener). I have not seen bigger bottles, but would buy them as they would represent better value for money. I shop at Halfords, although you see these Turtle WAX products all over the place, including supermarkets. You will find it cheaper if you shop around, of course.
To use this, first rinse your vehicle with plenty of running water, then add a couple of capfuls of the thick green concentrate to a bucket of water, which should be "hand hot", meaning that the water should be hot enough to remove dirt, but not scald your hands. (you may get away with using less product of course). You will see that this foams easily, and this formula is actually pH balanced. It may look like detergent, but has no harmful salts. A little of this goes a long way. After generally going over every panel of the vehicle, it should be thoroughly rinsed off, and if possible, dried with a Chamois leather. You can speed up the process by using a "blade" which is just a small rubber squeegee.
The Turtle WAX works by cleaning off the dirt with a lather that also lubricates and actually re-invigorates the existing wax. So after use, your vehicle will shine like it has just been polished. You will, of course, still need to add another coat of your preferred wax or polish, and there are many that I could recommend. The important thing is to get a coat of something on before your paint gets dirty again.
This car wash is recommended for all types of paintwork, including metallic and pearlescent finishes. I can recommend it for use on all types of vehicle. It is very good for removing dried-on bugs and flies too. The actual formula is a sectret, but does contain a concentrated blend of cleaning agents, creating a rich high-foaming lather, which lubricates and re-invigorates the existing polished finish. This is pH balanced and is gentle but effective.
