If you are weary of finding the same old rehash of American classic recipes, then this beautifully hardbound cookbook is for you. What the authors have given us in this cookbook, is a stellar variety of updated classic American dishes, that taste as fresh and lively as they look. Who would have ever imagined French toast batter sprinkled with black pepper, would lead to a brand new take on a favored breakfast treat?

Or what about sear roasted salmon fillets with lemon ginger butter? Yumm! Crab cakes with scallions and jalapenos, slow roasted chipotle pork, chard with ginger or a wonderful potato- green chile gratin are but a few of the treats waiting to inspire your imagination. All of the recipes are easy to follow with clear detailed instructions and helpful side notes. The photography throughout is beautifully composed and lovely to look at.

My favorite recipe is for homemade cinnamon rolls. As promised, these deliciously scented soft buns are every bit as good as Cin-A-Bons, without the hefty price tag. This one recipe alone, made buying this book so worth it. I buy through zooba.com, where books are always one flat price, even best sellers.
