My girlfriend owns this car and she bought it brand new back around 1995. This little cars handles the road very well and it drives well when it runs. The bucket seats in the front are comfortable. The trunk is roomy for a small car. The front of this car is really low to the ground as there is a piece under the front bumper that can catch on things. Although it is a nice riding little car and pretty comfortable for a small car this vehicle has been one big mistake from the start. I have used it a few times but the problem is you never know when it will fail to start. It has been this way since she bought it. The Hyundai dealer (Silver City Hyundai in Taunton, Mass.) did not stand behind it at the time even though it was a brand new vehicle. They were more interested in getting out of their responsibility than doing the right thing. My girlfriend merely wanted the car fixed and they said that she was just trying to give the car back to them. It was a strange situation as you could call them for help and when they would come out the car would start right up. They did take it in for service but the problem was so intermittent they said that they were not able to get it to fail at their repair facility and correct the problem. This Hyundai Accent is the biggest headache I have even seen in my life. Years later I have taken it to a triple A approved repair facility and they got it to fail once and this enabled them to get part way into the diagnosis but then it would not fail again so they could not completely finish any kind of repair or fix to the situation. I even sent the Hyundai corporation an email with no response from them. This purchase has certainly soured me on buying any vehicles from Hyundai. A gigantic thumbs down for the Hyundai Accent. A word to the wise is sufficient.
