We recently decided to get my husband a second vehicle to combat high gas prices. He was driving an SUV which of course was gulping gas by the gallon. We needed something to comfortably fit us and our 2 children and his grandmother.
So luckily a lady i work with had mentioned that she was trying to get rid of a 1996 minivan. I asked her about it and she wanted $1500, the van had almost 200, 000 miles on it. We talked and haggles and decided that i woul dbuy the van for $1000.
It is an older vehicle, so of course there are some issues, a few dings, a few scratches, the hinges ont he glove compartment are worn out, just small things.
However, it is a good buy because the motor is still purring, it gets better mileage than the SUV, the kids are comfortable and it doesn't have any major cosmetic issues.
So for being 22 years old this van is in great shape and I would definitely look at buying this model in a newer year if we ever decide to buy a new van.
