I bought my 2002 Kia Rio Cinco used and it now has 55, 000 miles. Under the hood ia a 1.5L four cylinder engine with 96 hp. The car also has a four speed automatic transmission, air conditioning, and a rear hatch back door that turns this into a station wagon. Note: Cinco in Spanish means five, which is the total number of doors that this vehicle has.

Interior: The front seats are comfortable and the front is roomy enough for larger adults. The back seating area is small and best suited for small adults and kids. The dash gauges are easy readable and contain a Speedometer, Tach, Fuel Gauge, and a Temperature Gauge..

Exterior: This hatchback station wagon is relatively short in length and the overall styling is what I would call "cute". Even after eight years, it still looks modern enough to not be outdated. I say "cute" because that is the comment I have heard the most from people. The paint on my Cinco has held up well except for a couple areas around the side door trim.

Performance: This vehicle accelerates slowly due to it's small engine and the transmission shifts smoothly in all gears. After reaching speeds of 40 mph +, this vehicle was able to keep up with most traffic. I was able to cruise at 55-70 mph speeds on the highway (speed limit permitting) without any problem. The air conditioning is still blowing out cold air and cools the interior quite nicely without a severe strain strain on the engine at higher speeds.. As of 55, 000 miles, there have been no fluid leaks and no oil burning problems., The vehicle has also never over heated even on hot days with the air conditioning turned on. From my driving experience, this vehicle rides and handles smoothly on good roads but has a some problems with ride comfort on bad roads which I suspect is due to the light weight of this vehicle. I am getting approximately 25 mpg city and 35-40 mpg highway driving.

Pros: So far has been mechanically reliable and other than normal service maintenance, no repairs, great gas mileage, low cost to buy used Kia's.

Cons: Low resale value, slightly under powered.
