We got our 2006 AVEO in April 2006. This is just a standard version of this car. This gets about 28 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway. With the standard version it does not have any bells and whistles but we completely bought this car based on price. Let me tell you that was a big mistake. I believe now that we should of paid alittle more and got some of the perks offered in the more pricer upgrades of this car. Now as for the handling I think that is one of the nicest economy cars out there. We took this car on our yearly trip to Florida which is 1200 miles away for us and I didn't mind the trip at all. This seats five people and it is a tight fit if they are all adults but if you seat three children in the back they fit nicely. I really like all the trunk space that this car has. We were amazed when we put 2 large suitcases, a regular sized cooler and the kids suitcases in there on the trip to florida. One or both of the seats in the back fold down so you can carry larger items if need be. I yard sale and that has come in handy alot. This also has front airbags and the passenger one is weight sensitive which is a very nice feature as my daughter sits up front and she is only 10 and it deactivates for her. They do offer this in a manual and automatic and we bought the manual. Because my husbands swears they get better gas mileage. Like he would really know I drive the darn thing. Men I swear. I do love color and overall look of the aveo. This is a nice car for anyone that is on a budget or that justs likes smaller cars.
