Recently, my husband and I decided it was time for us to get with the program and join the mp3 player revolution. We were not sure exactly which player to buy, though, since we knew very little about what is out there. We talked it over and decided on the 80GB Apple iPod Classic. We are extreme music lovers and the 80 gigs would ensure that we had plenty of space in which to store our extensive music library and take it with us wherever we go.
When our iPod finally arrived, we were both surprised and thrilled to find that we could store not only our music files, but also our movies, music videos and photos! My husband is somewhat of a computer graphics artist, and I enjoy digital photography. For years, we have stored our images on our PC, unable to share them with our family and friends that were not online without printing them first, which was not convenient for us. Now that we can store them on the iPod, we can share them with everyone. For instance, my grandmother had not seen many of our photos, and I was able to show them to her on Christmas and make her happy.
A few weeks ago, I took my iPod along with me to a doctor's visit. While I was waiting to see the doctor, I was able to pleasantly pass the time by viewing my favorite music videos. It sure made the time seem to pass more quickly and I didn't have to resort to outdated magazine issues.
The video quality is great; however, I have noticed that videos are best viewed indoors. When I tried to watch a video outdoors during the day, it was difficult to see even on overcast days. The audio quality is also very good for a portable device. The sound is clear and crisp, except at high volume levels - then there is some distortion.
Overall, I'm very happy with my iPod and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy their media on the go.
