The Fly Fusion Pentop is actually a small computer built into an ink pen. The pen can be used to write notes and then transfer them to your computer for printing in digital text. This pen also acts as a calculater, music creater, MP3 player, game, and most impotant of all, homework help. Programs can be purchased and downloaded onto the pen.

Setup is really easy. The pen attaches to the computer via USB. The website says that it is appropriate for children eight and older. I'm not sure an eight year old would really have the patience to learn to write appropriately for the pen to pick up the penmanship. Prior to taking the pen to class, the user has to practice their "FLYtype". I found that this could slow a person down when actually sitting in a class and writing notes. It also requires special paper that contains tiny dots that the pen recognizes. It could get expensive purchasing paper for a full year of classes. There is specialized software for algebra, Spanish, French and writing.

Lots of fun things can be done with the Fly Fusion Pentop. It has the capabilities of playing personal downloaded music. It has a spot to plug in a headset. The music studio software allows for mixing. A piano keyboard can actually be drawn by the pen, then touching the keys produces the sound. There are game pads that can be purchased and they are somewhat educational. It even has journaling capabilities.

Overall the Fly Fusion Pentop is great for the price. The added expenses could be a detterant for some. But, if a student is struggling with school, this could be a great addition for making learning fun.
