I purchased my Canon SD750 after a lengthy search. I'd been looking for an overal great camera in the $200-$250 range and started my search playing with cameras at local electronics stores. I liked the looks of the Canon models and there were two I was interested in: the SD750 and the SD1000. The salesman told me that each camera functions just about the exact same way but the SD1000 was a "classic" model reminiscient of the old Elph's. The SD750 has very smooth, clean lines with a silver front and a sleek black front. But the killer feature for me was the 3.5" lcd screen. That hooked me right then and there.
At the store, the price was $329 but I was not ready to pay that. Instead, I went home and searched for a better deal. I finally came upon one at Dell.com where not only did they have free shipping but 30% off digital cameras and my SD750 was included! I was able to get this gorgeous camera for the same price as the lessor model! I ordered it right then and there and received it 5 days later.
As I opened the package, I couldn't wait to begin playing with my new camera. It was just at beautiful as I remembered. As I started thumbing through the manual I realized that I would have to know a little more about photography and need to memorize the various functions. The features amazed me. This camera takes pictures so fast and so crisp and clear. You have the option of choosing automatic, manual, or pre-set functions. The automatic features are just that; the cameras settings are automatically set according to the picture. Manual settings give you to choose the correct settings given you are skilled in photography. The pre-set functions allow you to select they type of scene you are shooting such as night time, kids and pets, beach, aquarium, indoors, etc. One of the coolest features of this camera is its ability to select one prominent color or have the user select a color and make the rest of the picture black and white. I've taken some incredible photos with this feature. The picture uploaded is one of my favorites.
Overall, this camera is very user friendly, offers the best quality photos I've ever taken, and comes at a fantastic price. Canon has hooked me for life!
