I have had this router for a little more than two years. It has been fast and completely reliable. Compared to many other wireless routers, it was expensive at the time that I bought it (but it conformed to the draft 802.11n standard which was better than the predominant 802.11g standard).
I really don't like to have to hack around with hardware if I don't have to, and this router's set-up wizard resulted in what was nearly a plug-and-play installation.
The D-Link website claims that this router is 14 times faster and has an effective range six times farther than 802.11g routers while staying backward compatible with 802.11g devices.
I have never needed to reset this router. It does its job and stays out of the way. It is attractive and has three external antennas.
It has Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities, which I don't use, but can prioritize different types of traffic (such as VOIP, games, downloads, etc.).
It has a USB port on the back called 'SharePort' which can be used with a printer or storage devices. I was actually quite interested in using this functionality, but was scared off by reports of irresolvable driver/software/hardware incompatibilities. Even when it does work, the throughput is evidently not very good. If SharePort had been critical to me, I would not be happy, but it was really just a 'nice to have'.
All in all, I am very happy with my D-Link DIR-655.
