Long gone are the days of the behemoth CRT monitors that consume as much energy as desk space. In its place are the LCD flat panels - and man are there many to choose from. Thankfully, the Dell 1901FP flat panel 19" LCD monitor has the right balance of price, design, performance, features, and adjustability to meet most user's needs - Especially for office work. It is not the best monitor on the market at any of those five review categories, but it does compete very well when reviewed as the whole package.

The monitor is easily adjustable. You can swivel it, raise and lower, tilt and even rotate the screen 90degrees to work in portrait mode on a document. Now try any of those with a CRT...check that, I don't want to be sued for you hurting your back.

The 1901FP can accept VGA (analog) or DVI (digital signals). It also works extremely well in a multi-monitor arrangement.

The two USB ports on the side are very handy for using a thumb drive! A couple of others are available on the back, but not near as accessible. You can also attach speakers under the monitor.

The maximum resolution is 1280 x 1024 / 75hz. I find this sometimes limiting.

So if you are looking for a good combination of elements this is a good solution. If you want better gaming or graphics performance, I'd suggest you spend more on something else.
