Children always want a good book to read (especially older children). The Series of Unfortunate Events books which consist of the Bad Beginning, the Reptile Room, the Wide Window, the Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, the Hostile Hospital, the Carnivorous Carnival, the Perilous Peak, the Grim Grotto, the Penultimate Peril, and finally, The End.
The 13 books (yes, thirteen) are packed with the adventures of three orphans who have been orphaned by a deadly fire and are left with an enormous fortune. They're constantly followed by the horrendous Count Olaf who plots to somehow get his hands on the fortune through murderous ways.
In the 12th installment of the series, the children stop at a hotel while they try to uncover the mystery of the link between the Quagmire triplets' parents' deaths between their own parents' deaths. They meet Olaf again, and he is even more desperate than before!
This book is packed with much more adrenaline than the other books, but is much sadder in my opinion.
