I started using the Umberto Giannini products approximately two years ago and found them to be really good, I started of then using only the shampoo and conditioner in the Umberto range since then I have used several other hair products in the same range including the hair jelly, the product which I am reviewing is the Umberto Giannini Hairspray for curly hair, Like most products in this range the hairspray is usually on offer, on either two for £7 or three for £15, I got the £7 offer. All the Umberto range is available from Boots Pharmacy. As far as I am aware this is the only place that sells these products.
The hairspray comes in a deep pink coloured 200ml tin, with the "Umberto Giannini" logo printed in small silver lettering, in white lettering it states "hold me curl hairspray, the tin states that this hairspray will protect against frizz, humidity and it will provide hold for curly hair. The usual information can be found at the back of the tin. WARNING highly flammable (but everyone knows that already) The lid is silver and pulls off. The smell of this hairspray is quite similar to the shampoo and conditioner, for a hairspray it has quite a nice smell which isn't to strong or overpowering, however it is hard to describe.
Using the hairspray
The hairspray is used in the usual way and does provide a good strong long lasting hold, it is suitable for all curly or wavy hair types, Only a small amount of hairspray is needed for a good hold, however I did spray quite a lot on my first use and my hair ended up like a brick, I expect that this hairspray will last about 4 to 6 weeks, that's using a small amount everyday . Provided I haven't used to much of this hairspray my hair is left feeling soft, but it still holds all day. With some other hairspray I have used in the past I found them to be hard to brush out, however with the Umberto hairspray this is not the case at all.
All in all I would highly recommend all the Umberto Giannini hair products, I do find that it is quite expensive compared to other products on the market, however in my opinion the Umberto range is extremely good and I wouldn't use anything else. One bad point about these products which I found is that if I do use a different brand my hair is flyaway and hard to manage.
