I have a desktop calendar in my office at work. Even though I have a couple of different wall calendars there as well, my desktop calendar is my favorite. It has a different picture of Thomas Kinkade's art every day of the year. I always look forward to changing the page. (At work, even the smallest little treats can help make your day a little better.)
Besides the beautiful art by "The Painter of Light", as Thomas Kinkade is known, there is the date, a space for notes, and a small calendar of the month. I use the space for notes to remind myself of my "to-do" list for the day.
Thomas Kinkade's art is so pretty. Often it is of beautiful landscapes and often of pretty houses with light shining from the outside in. His paintings always depict light in one form or another. I love the ones that have sun rays and sun shining on trees or mountains.
The pictures that are pictured are named Sunset at Riverbend Farm and The Autumn Gate. I love the way the sun shines through the fog in The Autumn Gate. Some other titles of the art in my desk calendar are Mountain Retreat, Christmas Tree Cottage, and The End of a Perfect Day.
My calendar was a gift for Christmas 2008, and I believe it started a tradition for me. I'm going to order myself another Thomas Kinkade desktop calendar right away to be ready for January 2010.
