When I first saw that they were making a remake for the movie Nightmare on Elm Street, I was pleased. One of the great original horror movies, and another great thing was Michael Bay was producing the movie ( director of Transformers 1&2 and producer of Jason). It seemed to me that it was going to be a great film and I would enjoy it. And yet to my dismay, I found the movie mediocre at best. It is quite hard to re-produce a movie that was already amazing in the first place. The acting I thought was the worst part. They didn't seem fit for this type of film, and at most times they had a tendency to overact. The voice and the look of Freddy has changed, and I thought that it was a terrible change. There isn't anything different from this one, to the one that was made 25 years ago. The effects were brilliant, seeing as the budget was relatively high and we live in the era of technology. The directing wasn't great either, at times the filmed seemed boring and the plot hard to follow. I like to think I know a lot about horror movies because I watch a lot of them, and this one I truly didn't like. It could have been a lot better. Not what I expected, mediocre at best, the original in my opinion was better. Although the original, i would recommend that anyone would watch that.
