One of my favorite purchases lately is a very novel item that I found, surprisingly, at a thrift shop. It is a regular sized dark pink purse with 4 clear marble-type legs. It is adorned on the top with white feathers. It has a clear Lucite beaded handle that matches the pedestal legs. But what makes this so unique is that it is an accent light as well. It is very unique looking as is, but when you realize that it is also a light, it makes it all that more special.

These lights retail for $50.00 and up in boutiques. They are advertised as "a boudoir lamp disguised as a fancy handbag." They are eye catching without the light, but when you add a small watt bulb, they take on an even more charming appeal.

This purse accent light would be a great touch to your shabby chic or Victorian decor. I have mine in my dressing area, along with some actual purses that also have feather accents around the top.

People were following me all over the store when I placed this in my cart, and one of the sales girls searched the store over, to find me a small light to try out the lamp. We were sure for the price of $2.99 that the wiring probably didn't work, but much to our delight, the light worked perfectly. I feel so blessed to have found something that goes so well with my Victorian decor at such a great price. It is definitely a unique, novelty decor item.
