The compaq Compaq Presario 7476 was released in 1999 as part of the presario line of desktops, the presario comes with 64 MB of ram, 10 GB HD space and a 533 MHZ Celeron. This computer might seem slow and old but it's not, I recently purchased one of these off Ebay for $200 smackers and it runs like new. This computer comes in white which is unheard of now a days, and it comes with windows 98 which most people hate but I think this is one of Microsofts best operating systems. The first thing anyone should do to one of these is upgrade the Ram, the compaq presario 7476s 64MBs of ram is upgradable to 128 MBs of ram. This computer is a solid performer even without memory, this computer performs word processing and internet surfing like a champ.

And if you love watching media like movies or listing to music this computer is perfect for that too. The compaq comes with a Instant internet keyboard where you press the big red button and you are online, of course because this is a windows 98 computer it is optimized for dial up. The computer comes preloaded with old versions of Juno, Msn, Aol, Net Zero, And Compuserv.

This computer doesn't come with a 10/100 lan card but that is a easy upgrade since they sell for around three dollars on ebay. Overall if you are in collage or just a home pc user and your not to proud to buy a used computer you can't beat a rock solid compaq.
