My sons are pack rats. It is next to impossible to get them to get rid of anything. They are almost 14 and still have the blankets a family member made for them when I was pregnant. They love blankets and pillows and refuse to get rid of their older blankets when they get knew ones.
We have several sets of twin size comforters and sheets, as well as, many different throws that they insist on keeping. This presents a storage problem as we have very limited closet and storage space. So, I decided to try the vacuum sealed storage bags I had seen advertised. I had a Rite Aid gift card and was there shopping when I noticed they had these Original Space Bag storage bags. There are 2 large sized bags in a box for $9.99 so I decided to give them a try.
These bags measure 21.5" x 33.5" and the box states that they will hold 10-12 sweaters. I was able to get 2 twin sized comforters, 2 twinsized sheet sets, 2 throws, and a throw pillow in each bag. I then attached my vacuum cleaners hose to the valve on the bag and vacuumed the air out. The bags ended up being only a couple of inches thick when I was done. This made them very easy to store under a bed or in the closet.
These bags are a wonderful solution to my storage problems. My kids get to keep all their blankets and pillows and I don't have to constantly be putting away the extras. If my sons want to get a certain blanket out of the bag, they know it has to be replaced with a different item and resealed.
I highly recommend these bags to anyone with limited storage space or who just wants to reduce clutter.
