I like Marie Claire because it is like an intellectual version of Cosmopolitan. It has a few pages of fashion and beauty, and the obligatory relationship advice, but it also has articles about politics and human interest stories about what is going on in the world. Also, the advice that they give is usually practical, not you should show up at your boyfriend's office wearing nothing but plastic wrap.
I'd been looking for a "smart" women's magazine for a while, and I think I finally found it in this one. A bonus is that a 12-issue subscription is only ten dollars a year, and you don't have to be put on the stupid automatic renewal plan, where they keep billing you whether you want them to or not.
I highly recommend this magazine for all of those reasons. Happy reading.
