This is another book that is not what I expected. I guess I am not good at the judging by its cover thing. It is the story of a woman who for 30 years decided that she didn't really want kids, and then when she changes her mind, she finds that the powers that be have other plans. This sets her on a quest to conceive that spans over a decade.
During this time, the author not only turns into the frantic woman that she used to make fun of, she discovers a lot about herself, the world around her, and what really matters in life.
Before I read this, I heard a lot about how great this book was. I did find it interesting, but I wouldn't say it is a life-changing story or anything. If you have ever felt like life is giving you a raw deal (haven't we all felt this way?), this true story may give you hope.
It's a pretty easy read, although it does occasionally get bogged down with exposition.
