I was turned onto Pond's products at a very young age by a lady in her late fifties that lived next door to me growing up. She was really good friends with my mom, and I remember how she would clip out coupons out of the Sunday paper for Pond's products, she loved her Pond's, she had been using them since she was a young woman, turned onto them by her own mother. And she turned me onto the products because of the results I had seen in her own skin. A woman nearing sixty, and not a wrinkle or line on her face! Now nearing eighty, just a few lines that you would see in someone half her age, and mostly they are just laugh lines around her eyes, so I am a huge believer in Pond's products.
I copy her routine exactly, cleanse in the am with Dove soap, original or sensitive formula, then apply Pond's Dry Skin cream, I apply sunscreen, (she did/does not use sunscreen) then my makeup. At night I take off all my makeup, including waterproof mascara with Pond's Cold Cream original formula, I have not tried the one with cucumber, but have been told that it works great for less dry skin by a friend with oily/ combo skin type. Then I tissue off and cleanse the residue with Dove soap, and on goes my Pond's dry skin cream, although I have been using a new cream that I love just as much as the Pond's at night, but still use the Pond's Dry Skin Cream in the day under makeup, as I love the glow it gives and how smooth it makes my makeup look.
Once a week I slather a thick layer of Cold Cream onto my face and exfoliate lightly with St Ives Apricot Scrub in the jar not tube, because the jar is bigger and lasts alot longer. The cold cream protects my skin from the scratchiness of the apricot scrub, my skin is left smooth clear and soft.
The Pond's Cold Cream smells faintly of roses, and is a classic for a reason, it simply works! Marilyn Monroe and alot of other glamorous celebrities used cold cream over night and as a cleanser. In my mind, if something has been around as long or longer than my grandparents and is still a best seller it must work, and my neighbour is proof! And no I don't work for Pond's, I just really love the products! And this is coming from a huge skeptic of cosmetic products and someone who has worked for many highend cosmetic companies!
