Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks "Message in a Bottle", "A Walk to Remember" is one of the most moving chick-flicks I've seen in many years. It is the story of love overcoming everything! What could be better? This movie is about a young quiet, academic girl who has a terminal illness, but she doesn't tell anyone. Then she is paired the school hunk with no worries, and the two end up being friends and then fall in love. The two overcome their difficulties to be together for the remainder of her life. It is the story of trust, hope, God, unconditional love and faith.
I thought this movie was just another teen movie when my brother and his girlfriend were raving about it, but did agree to borrow it and watch it (mostly to get them off of my back) and then I ended up watching it three times before I returned it. The next time I was in town, I bought it for myself. That's how good of a movie this is. It's AMAZING! I even bought the book and read it after I had watched it. This movie describes the love we all wish to find one day and I think that it is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It is rated PG, but would be ok for mature children to watch.
