I tend to get a lot of colds in the winter months. I usually end up with a runny nose as a result of the cold. My poor nose gets cold sores because of all of the friction created from contantly using tissue to wipe it. I colleague of mine suggested that I give Abreva try so I did!

I found the cost of Abreva to be too expensive for the amount of product you get. Afterall, it comes in tiny litte 2 gram tube! The cap is twist-off with a thin applicator nozle. The active ingredient in Abreva is 10% Docosanol cream. It is supposed to relieve a lot of the symptoms associated with cold sores and fever blisters.

Well, I did use Abreva for my nose cold sores and I was plesantly pleased! The key to using Abreva is frequent application. The packaging says to apply up to 5 times daily for excellent results but I only did about 3 times and still had great results. I found that it reduced the itching and pain that my nose cold sores caused. They also healed quickly which I was thankful for because nose cold sores can look like you've got some real 'booger' issues going on when they get scabby. I was amazed that this product worked no matter where the cold sore was (my colleague uses Abreva for cold sores that pop up on her mouth and had great results too).

If you suffer from cold sores ANYWHERE on your body give Abreva a try!
