I had never heard of the ABSORBA brand baby clothes. The information I find on them says that the company was established in 1849…in France…maybe that’s why! Apparently it is said to be one of the better priced European kids clothes found in the US. I don’t believe it is very “main stream”.
I got a few pieces as a baby shower gift from my sister in law. They have been some of my MOST favorite clothes and blankets for baby! After having 5 babies, I think this is the best made/quality I have seen yet.
When I read about them it says that Absorba is well known for their quality, this includes the fabrics they use, the embroidery, and “up to the minute fashion”. I have never followed baby fashion…I am a bit more practical. I like good quality, comfortable, practical and well sized clothing for babies. I have to agree that the quality is awesome on the baby clothes that I received.
I got a couple of baby blankets and a couple of sleepers and pants outfits. The blanket is the softest cuddliest blanket I had for my son when he was a newborn. You can feel the quality of the material…it’s hard to explain unless you actually TOUCH IT. It is double sided and one side has a soft furry material. My sister in law lives in Alaska…this blanket and all of the clothes she sent is THICK and warm…I’m not meaning BULKY...just good quality, cotton and fleece and really hold the warmth in for little ones
. It was perfect since my son was born in October. There has been No fraying, no seams or threads coming loose and no shrinking. The little outfits and sleepers are well made, soft, and warm and designed to get baby in and out of easily. The snaps are good as well…I hate baby clothes that have weak/ poor snaps. I am saving all of these for our next baby (yes my husband wants ONE more!) The pieces I have still look brand new, except for the blanket...this has a tiny bit of wear …lots more use in it and I used these A LOT.The little pants ofit I posted a picture of has cover footsies that are little polar bears...it's hard to see the quality in these pictures and I do apologize. The matching shirt has snaps up the back, this made it so much easier to get baby dressed! The sleeves were just the right size so that they weren't binding, but they also didn't make baby look like he was swimming in it either! This set is 100% cotton.
I have NOT seen these at any of the stores here in town…even the expensive ones! I have found them on line…they can be found at reasonable prices. They make newborn through kindergarten size clothing in all different styles. I don’t know much more about Absorba, just that the clothes I got were of excellent quality. You may be able to find them in specialty baby stores, but I think your best bet is online. I cannot clarify enough how wonderfully made Absorba baby clothes are!
