The best thing about writing music reviews, is that if you sit down at your computer, turn on your cd player and listen to that cd you are reviewing and relax, you can write an excellent review. This bands cd is an excellent product to review.
This ancient rock cd was an album release in 1983 when I was only 17 years old. Going into my senior year this classic was blaring on my tape deck in my 1970 Plymouth Duster as my buddies and I cruised the gut on friday and saturday night. This release was quickly acclaimed as a great one with the #9 song ' Badlands'. This song was in instant hit amongst my friends and all the party hoppers.
My favorite song on the cd that I own is the #2 song 'This House is on fire'. Malcom Youngs starting riff is like a civil war declaration. The lyrics in this song are about the deceptions of lust, how the house, or being, is caught up in desire and lust. When being decieved a fire erupts. What a great song with a drum roll finale. The title song is the #3 song 'Flick of the Switch', about a witch (I believe). She can blow your mind, entrap you, and make you beg for more with the flick of your switch. A nice guitar eruption midway through this one sets the party up for action. The # 4 song is about doing time on earth as a prisoner to oppresive rule. The theory of the song is to love the punishment and the justice of hypocracy of the laws of our world. This is called 'Nervous Shakedown' and It is a top notch rocker'.
Every collector should have this hard to get cd on the shelf. It is a blast from the past. I give it two thumbs up and a big toe!
