Have you ever wanted to record or take screenshots of your favourite games? Ever wanted to show your accomplishments to your friends, and keep your videos as memories? If so, then this capture card device is perfect for your. The Adaptec GameBridge 1400/1410 is a small device that hooks up any gaming console with your PC or laptop and lets you record and take screenshots of your gameplay. Although not the best quality, it is definitely the best for it's unbeatable price.
I first bought this device so I could record gameplay from my Xbox 360 console. I had read some review, and it was the cheapest I could find, so I decided to pick it up. When you first but it, it comes with two needed cables to connect your console to the GameBridge to the PC, the GameBridge device of course, and a software called InterVideo Home Theatre.
When I first tried isntalling the software onto my Windows Vista computer, I had a bit of trouble, seeing as Adaptec only released drivers for Windows XP computers (and they have officially said they will not support Vista). By searching online, you can easily find tutorials on how to make this installation work. When the software was installed, I was very impressed at how clean it looked and performed. I think went on to hook up the device, and it was extremely easy. I then turned on my console, and with the click of a button from my mouse, I was ready to play.
When you start recording or taking snapshots (both of which are self explantory), you will see that the video quality isn't the best out there, but its unbeatable for the price. During gameplay, you will be able to distinguish almost everything, although some edges might get a little blury. Don't let this get you down, for this is an excellent device. The audio recording quality is also amazing. It is almost lossless compared to whats coming out of the speakers.
The bottom line is, this is an excellent device and will have the best performance to price ratio out there. If you are looking for a cheap, but good quality capture card, then this is perfect for you.
Pros: Easy, fast setup; very small; very good quality for the price
Cons: Does not record in HD (duh)
