I love that I can set it in the morning to turn on at 4:00 pm (one hour before I get home) to conserve power and keep my electricity bill down. When running consistently, though, it can eat away at your electricity bill.
The remote control works from a good distance from the unit, and the buttons glow in the dark when the lights have gone out. This makes it easier to find and use after the lights are off and you are in bed.
The unit is advertised as portable, but it is really only as portable as the window exhaust hose will allow. It is on wheels for easy turning and positioning.
Another great feature is the ablity of the exhaust hose to fit in both vertical and horizontally-opening windows. Most units only fit in horizontal windows, but my house has windows that open vertically, and the exhaust hose fits perfectly.
Setup and installation are quick and easy — we had ours set up in 20 minutes.
You do have to drain the waterbucket fairly often, which can be annoying.
It is slightly noisy, but if you are used to (or are relaxed by) motor noises (think in terms of fans or driving a car to put a baby to sleep), you might actually enjoy the noise.
The unit isn't very high in BTUs, so it doesn't cool large areas, but if you are looking to cool one room (like a bedroom) then this is a good unit for you.
