Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors. His novels are always jammed pack with excitement. Airframe is no exception. The novel starts out with a very frightening incident on a large commercial airliner on it's way from Hong Kong to Denver Colorado. This accident starts a roller coaster ride of investigations and turmoil for the main character who happens to be one of the Vice Presidents of a large air line building company. She is put in charge of the investigation of flight 545 and starts off to find out what happened to this flight where people were killed and many more injured. She has to deal with a air line company that is fearful of loosing a BIG job in China if this investigation falls through, Angry floor workers that are fearful of loosing their jobs, higher up Vice presidents that are after a higher position and want to use her to get it, plus the always looking for the doom and gloom stories media.
This book takes you into an indepth look into the area of aviation. It's frightening and a defenate edge of your seat type novel. Defenatly makes you think twice about stepping onto another airplane anytime in the near future.
