I bought this for my Align T-Rex 450SA helicopter, that I also reviewed. I was hoping that the good quality of the helicopter will also be shown in this rechargeable Lipo battery pack that I paid $70 for.

Well, guess not.

After about 10 cycles (one cycle is a charge and a discharge), I noticed that the battery was puffing. That is a BAD sign. Recently there has been problems of laptop batteries being recalled, which is the same type of rechargeable battery. These batteries are highly volatile, if you puncture them, they will burst into flames! And when they puff up, that means it is about to fail.

I contacted Align, and they said that they will replace my battery for free! I sent it in, and three weeks later I got a new battery. This one appears to be reworked, and the label has the word "NEW" in bold red lettering. I have about 20 cycles on this battery, and so far it hasnt puffed, and has been performing well.

However, I dont reccomend one of these batteries to anyone. For the same price you can get better quality packs, such as from Thunder Power and Flightpower. I am continuing to use this Align battery since it's the only one that I have, but when I get a new pack, I'm going right for a high quality Flightpower pack.

These new align batteries perform "well", but for the same price you can get better. These new batteries shouldnt puff up, but I would just rather go with a Flightpower or Thunder Power pack for the same price. If you are in the market for a new Lipo battery pack, ignore Align's packs, check out the other brands.
