The Perfect Day by Sugar cosmetics is a great palette of 8 eye shadows. Four of the colors are large in size and considered "neutral" -- they are a matte pale peach, a matte very light brown, a shimmery pale copper/peach, and a shimmer dark navy. The first three would make great base, or eyelash to eyebrow colors; I think the navy, which is quite dark, would work best as either a liner shadow, or smudged into the crease for an evening on the town.
The other four colors the "glitter" shadows that can be mixed and matched with the first four. They are smaller in size than the neutral shadows, but since you'll use less of them, there's plenty there. They are a pale pink, shimmering gold, light sage green, and a really lovely mid-range purple (not as pale as lavender, but lighter than purple; lilac, maybe?). Also included in the pretty tin they come in is a double-ended brush; one end is a sponge applicator, the other end is an actual small brush.
Although the price may seem high, remember that it buys you eight shadows, and a huge variety of different looks, from subtles and natural to a smashing evening out look, and anything you can imagine in between. I have only two concerns with the palette. The first is that the shadows contain talc and petrolatum, ingredients that can irritate sensitive eyes. The second is that the brush included in the palette is really not suitable to achieve the looks possible with the included colors; if you own a larger range of brushes, you should use them.
I can wear these for an evening, or an afternoon, but not much longer than four hours or my eyes become irritated. I've achieved some great looks with them, though, and feel that my money was well spent -- and I'm notoriously cheap about make-up! This is very close to a five, and if you want all your looks in one convenient spot, this is the palette for you.
