It's winter here at college, and the days are getting frosty. However, our dorm rooms are kept t a balmy 83 degrees. Which, you know, is nice and dandy when you come in from the cold, but waking up at night all sweaty with all the covers on the floor is not very much fun at all. So while I was shopping at Wal-Mart, I saw they had a sale on fans, and the Aloha Breeze Tower Fan was down to $7.00 from $20.00. Well, that was an offer I couldn't refuse! So I picked it up and brought it back to the room, and my roomie and I have agreed it was the best seven bucks I've ever spent.

This fan is great. It's skinny, so it saves space in our little dorm room, but it's also powerful. The fan is about 2 1/2 feet tall, and it oscillates (you can also set it to stay in one place). There are three settings, one for the lowest and three for the highest setting, the most powerful. This did require some assembly, but I had no problem screwing it together with a pair of scissors (where's a toolbox when you need one?).

The one thing against this fan is that it's not very quiet. Granted, it's not loud, but it does give off a little buzzy hum while it's working. It doesn't keep me from falling asleep, but it sometimes does bother me if I'm trying to watch TV.

All in all, I'd totally recommend this fan. It gets the job done, even if it isn't completely silent.
