I have had multiple skin issues over the years, but age spots have been the most annoying. I'm not one to do the laser peels, so I thought I would try this two step daily face peel instead. It has been advertised to accomplish several tasks for the skin. Here is a small amount of what this product was created to do for your skin and how it goes about doing it.

This anti-aging product not only diminishes the appearance of winkles, but helps complexion problems, balances oils, tones skin, and increases clarity and radiance. Plus, it proves a daily, gentle approach can give superior results vs. a harsh approach. Like exercising daily is better than a long workout once a week, it's better to treat your skin daily.

In just 2 minutes a day, our patented, easy 2-step system gives you a highly developed skincare regimen plus MicroexfoliationTM- without recovery time. MicroexfoliationTM is a gentle, non-irritating method of removing cellular debris from the surface of the skin, resulting in a smoother, firmer more even complexion. MD Skincare® Alpha Beta® Daily Face Peel yields results far superior to other methods of exfoliation. Significant, notable and lasting improvement is achieved through daily use - maintain a luminous look all day long.

The packaging for the product is pretty functional. You receive two jars which stack into a cardboard tube with a lid. I kept the tube because it held the jars very well and kept them handy while minimizing the use of my counter space. They have added basic instructions inside the packaging, on the tube, and also on both jars, which helped me understand how to use the product quite easily and quickly.

Step one is simply thin cotton pads that are soaked in the Alpha Beta Refining solution. (Step 1: Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Malic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Genistein, Chamomile Extract, Green Tea) Using one pad per day, you apply the solution to a clean, dry face from forehead to neck in semi-circular motions. You then continue to apply the solution until the pad feels dry.

The first time I used step one, I had not washed my face directly before applying it. I felt no sensations at all. The next time, I washed my face and patted it dry before applying. I did feel extreme tingling, but no pain. It simply tingled enough to know it was working. I tend to wash prior to use now because I feel it is more effective.

After waiting two minutes, you continue to step two which is the Neutralizing System solution. (Step 2: Green Tea Extract, Phospholipids, Sodium Bicarbonate, Vitamins A, C, E) To do what they say is a proffesional job, you must take one pad from the second jar and wipe your face down in the same pattern as you did in step one. Once the pad is dry you are finished. At this point you are asked not to wash your face or use any products on your face that contain alcohol.

Step two was extremely soothing and the tingling from step one immediately subsided as the solution soaked into my skin. They suggest that you also purchase All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 and apply that as a last step. I don't use this, but I do use Oil of Olay which has an SPF of 15 and it hasn't caused me any adverse reactions thus far.

I'm pretty impressed with the product over all. It doesn't solve all your skin problems in one application, but it shows an obvious difference after the first use. It does seem to help minimize wrinkles, but I would say wrinkle reduction is the product's least effective use. It actually does rid my face of dead skin cells, it has balanced the oily and dry areas of my skin, minimized my blackheads, and even gave my skin a light glow. I don't feel the need to moisturize once I use the product which is unusual with most products that are on the market. It is a rather easy addition to my face care routine and I don't have to use a messy exfoliant which is an added plus.

If you have acne at the time of use it will tingle a bit more in those areas. It dries the areas out rather quickly without drying the skin around the area. I would be cautious the first week of use, don't use this product before a special event because it will draw quite a bit from your pores to the surface. In less than a week this stopped and I started seeing the benefits. It has helped my aging spots some in the lighter areas, but it may take several months before those areas show any real improvement.

The price is a bit high, but it is for a month's worth of product. For a few dollars more you can also get the applications in packets if you'd like to use the product away from home. I've found you can lessen the price quite a bit by watching for sales or using in store coupons. I've also found that I save money because I don't have to purchase exfoliants anymore. I'm hopeful that by continuing to use the product I will see even more results. I will update this review at a later time and share my results.
