I am 18 years old, and drive a 2003 Chev Cavalier. I have as most teenage boys been going through a phase where I want to have the loudest sound system in my car possible, for the least amount of money. Running my audio system completely from stock the speakers would distort with the volume turned only half, the bass would distort much before then. The sound quality was far from top notch.

In the end I picked out:

Subwoofer: SWS1243D $500 CAD

Amp: MRP-M500 $300 CAD

Headunit: CDA-9886 $400 CAD

These prices might seem steep, but well worth it as they were all installed professionally. From the first time I heard it pound, to 4 months later when I get into my car it never ceases to amaze me the quality sound that alpine products produce. My first purchase began with the headunit, the rest of my sound system was completely stock. The new headunit deepened my bass, provided much clearer highs, and seemed to put less of a strain on my stock speakers.I now could turn it much louder than half volume.

I thought this was going to be enough for me, but I wanted more bass so I went back to Atlantic Car Stereo and got installed an amp and subwoofer. Within the first week of having it installed my rear view mirror fell off(Only needed to be tightened back on again). The car pounds, it literally gave me a headache my first few days of having it turned only 2/3's of the volume. People in the back seat can barely hear themselves think from what they tell me.

Overall I am very impressed with this product and recommend it to anyone who is looking for car audio equipment. Alpine makes a great product so I suggest them for any car audio needs.

In the near future I will be putting in some new Alpine speakers, so I will be sure to update this review to tell you about those.
