I bought this acoustic after five years of playing electric guitar, and have absolutely loved it. Some acousitc can be hard to play after playing an electric, since the string are so much stiffer and higher off the fretboard, however this one seems to play with relative ease. My guitar is solid black, and I love the way it looks. With a spruce top, mahogany body and sides, and rosewood fingerboard, you get great quality and tone at an exceptional price. Sure, there are plenty of guitars out there that are better made, with better sound quality, but considering the price of this Alvarez it is hard to beat. Since it is an acoustic electric, it can be plugged into an amplifier, and has its own control panel. This part of the guitar is really neat, since when it is plugged in you can control the volume, lows, and highs straight from the guitar. This panel also features a chromatic tuner that is more useful than I could have imagined.
