I always fancy Sony Ericsson phones. This is one of them. It’s Sony Ericsson C901. I wanted to buy the C905 but the price is out of my budget range. So I bought C901 instead.
In the Package
1. Cell phone
4. Manual book
5. Warranty card
Design & Display
I always seek for a candy bar phone because it’s simple. C901 is a candy bar and that’s the main reason I bought it. The keypad arrangement is not my favorite, though. The numeric keys are very close one another, so when I want to press a key sometimes the adjacent key is also accidentally pressed. Additional buttons are located at the right of the cell phone. These buttons are for controlling volume, camera button, and multimedia buttons. The camera is located at the back of the phone, with some kind of sliding cover for protecting the lens. If we slide it open, the camera will automatically turn on. The TFT display is clear enough for me, though I think that the display should be better than that.
The music and video player are of course presented here to make the features even more complete. The sound quality is not as good as the Walkman series, but still, I admire the sound quality of Sony Ericsson phones.
With HSDPA 3.6MBps, it’s pretty fast to access data through the net. Netfront browser is already installed here to support the internet connection. Also, I won’t need a PC to open my Facebook account because there is a feature called ‘Facebook for Sony Ericsson’ which can directly connect us to Facebook. Uploading photos to Facebook from this phone is made easy.
No doubt that this phone is a camera phone. The 5MP camera is already supported by Xenon flash. And don’t be surprised, the quality of the pictures is perfect! Every little detail can be focused and clearly seen, even when taken in-door, and thanks to the Xenon flash for this! The pictures are of their original color, unlike other phone camera’s which are mostly darker. For me this is the best camera phone.
Since this phone has a lot to offer, the battery life couldn’t last long if we often use the features such as music player, video recording, camera with the xenon flash on, and internet connection. I charge it for about one hour and it will hold up to two-three days in standby time.
Connectivity and Other Things
For connectivity, this phone has Bluetooth and M2 memory card slot. It doesn’t come with M2 card, and I have to buy at my own cost. I use 1GB M2 card, and it works well. It supports Java so I downloaded some Java games and wallpaper into this phone.
For me, this phone is terrific except for the numeric keys design. The best thing from this phone would be the picture’s quality taken from the 5MP camera. But I think it’s better to add something like memory card in the package... Overall, I’m satisfied with this phone.
