"American Outlaws" is the 2001 movie of Jesse James. It stars Colin Farrell, Scott Caan, and Ali Larter. Basically it is the story of Jesse James and his gang who come back to their hometown of liberty, Missouri after the war and find that railroad barons trying to force everyone in town to sell them their land. Jesse and Cole fight back. While everyone from the railroad barons to the police are looking for them, they prove hard to catch as the public is behind them all the way.
This is an ok movie. The story line is great, but as a big modern western movie fan, I think that it does not truly do the story justice. I just would not rank it up there with the likes of movies like Tombstone. However, it is one that I've wached a few different times so it's not that bad. in my experience, I find that my male friends like it more than I do. I like the special features though. They are definitily worth checking out.
This movie is rated PG-13, but is pretty clean. There is a little mild sexual content between Jesse James and his wife (Caan and Larter) and of course there is western violence.
