Termed as the best release in 2008 by nearly all certified music magazines around the world and getting the mass approval of fans worldwide of this genre of music, Amon Amarth has created a gem of a masterpiece in the genre of Melodic Death Metal and it remains to be seen if it is called that album which cause the genre to be redifined in the wake of this album's release.

For a fan like me nothing is better than to hear growling and screeches being mixed with the melodious tunes of tuned down guitars accompanied with bass and drums.Well the band called Amon Amarth has created such a potent mixture of these elements that to avoid this abum would be to commit a grave sin for me.

The songs are just superb in their composition and lyrical content is the same that is of norse mythology but it never gets old by the way the band utilise it in their songs. The production is top class and the execution of the finished product with the artwork is just a plain delight to hear and watch respectively.

I was surprised that such amount of melody could be mixed with such harsh vocals but then gems are created from such tireless contributions by bands such as these. The title song is the best among them and deserves a special mention, but then not a song in this album is filler material and all stand out as superb songs. So a must pick up for any metal fan and a not to miss album for any melodic death metal fan.I have truely enjoyed the album and only hope that people hearing this album would reciprocate my feelings.
