While we were rebuilding the motor on our Aquasport my husband decided we needed an air compressor. Off to Sears we went. While there were a variety of compressors there in varying sizes he wanted the big one. We purchased the Craftsman 33 Gallon Permanently Lubricated Single Stage Portable Air Compressor.
This model came with a variety of tools as a bonus: a ratchet wrench, an air hammer, an impact wrench, and an air hose. Of course the hose was cheap and coiled so my husband upgraded that immediately. He also changed out all the quick connects so he could use tools he had at work with this compressor.
Though my husband is the primary user of the compressor, I have had many opportunities to use it myself. Operating this compressor is quite easy. Flip the switch, connect what you need to use to the hose, and allow pressure to build for optimum output.
I've used the compressor to air tires, blow debris off projects, and some detail work with a dermal. I've never had any issues with lack of pressure or operation.
The only thing I hate about the compressor is when it kicks on; it's loud and always makes me jump.
My husband has an issue with the impact wrench. He feels it is not powerful enough to handle jobs like removing or replacing lug nuts. I think he wants one like they use in Nascar.
I believe this Craftsman 33 gallon air compressor was well worth the money. It has been very dependable. It has helped us complete some jobs we would have had to outsource otherwise. If you are looking for a quality air compressor this Craftsman may be exactly what you need.
