I purchased this with my laptop. I was not familiar with Photoshop before purchasing this product, as I have always used Macromedia products. With Adobe purchasing Macromedia, I thought I had better try it and see how I liked it.

Photoshop Elements tried to take over my pictures. As soon as I plugged in my camera, it assumed that it knew what I wanted and downloaded them all to my computer without asking me too many questions. That would be great for a novice user, but I am a more advanced user with regard to organizing my pictures, and I didn't want it like that. No amount of clicking cancel stopped its process so I gave up and waited for it to be done.

When it was done, I really enjoyed working with the product. It wasn't intuitive for a new user, but for someone that had seen other imaging products, it was great. I really liked that it fixed red-eye problems automatically and that it saved those pictures with a different filename so you could check it. It was easy to crop pictures and very easy to reduce the image size to save for emails or web publishing.

With the purchase, I received some free tutorials through Adobe's site. That has been a great resource for me. I'm not sure if all purchases include that, but it helped me get used to the program.

I am very happy with my purchase, although I wish I could make the program stop trying to take over my pictures.
