Anne of Avonlea is the sequel to the well-known book, Anne of Green Gables. I used to read Anne of Green Gables all the time when I was little, as it was quite easy to read back then. But after I grew older, I could read this book, which is a harder installment, but just as good. I actually found it randomly on one of my teachers' shelves by coincidence. I had never even known it existed!
This book shows how Anne has become after she has grown older. At sixteen, she is teaching at her old school. Now, she is busier than ever, since she has to teach children and take care of seven-year-old twins with Marilla, her adoptive mother. But that doesn't mean she isn't as fun and loving as ever! In this new book, she brings joy and happiness to everyone she meets, including a cranky, old neighbor that lives next door.
I was really happy I read this book, because I always wanted to know what happened to Anne after the original book. I highly recommend it!
