Here's a new use for a twin fitted sheet. My husband and I recently bought two identical comfy chairs with a hassock, from TJ Maxx. We put them in our bedroom--one on each side of the bed. Each chair has a floor lamp nearby, so that we can read comfortably, or work on our computers.

The chairs are a light brown upholstery, and we live in them on the weekends. We decided that we would like to preserve the upholstery by protecting it. I found that a twin fitted sheet was exactly what we needed! It fit like a slipcover.

All the accessories in our bedroom are burgundy red, so I chose burgundy sheets to compliment everything else in the room. We always stack lots of pillows (both regular bed pillows and decoartive ones) in our chairs, so the effect when you look in the room is that we have burgundy chairs. I usually throw an afghan across each one, and the whole effect is quite elegant. You would never immediately say, "Look at the fitted sheets on the chairs!" I think that our chairs will stay nice looking a lot longer this way. The other night my husband spilled some coffee on mine, and I was glad that it went on the sheet, and not on my chair upholstery!

These sheets are 100% cotton, which has been a mistake with some other sheets I've purchased. But these never pill up, or wrinkle, so I don't know what the difference is. They are only 250 thread count (which is low) but they wash and dry well.

So if you need any twin sheets, they're on sale now at Target for $5.99, down from $7.99. January is always a great time of year to find bargains on sheets (whatever the use.)
