I am still somewhat new to Mansfield Ohio, and over the weekend my boyfriend and I decided to go out and explore our new home town. We ended up taking a drive and stumbled upon Apple Hill Orchards on Lex Ontario road.
At this orchard you can walk around and pick your own apples and pumpkins, or you can just buy the apples inside the store. We decided to walk around the orchards and pick our own apples. It was really fun to admire the trees and select the perfect apples.
A half peck is $4.50 or $9 for a peck, you can mix varieties if you wish.
Apple Hill Orchards is a lovely place to visit, and there is nothing like picking apples that are warm from the sun and seriously fresh and delicious.
Additionally you can sample and buy fresh pressed cider, and enjoy a hay ride. I really loved feeding and petting the adorable goat and sheep at the orchard also.
The orchard is open until April, and you can pick apples until the first frost. If you are ever in Mansfield Ohio, I would recommend stopping by Apple Hill Orchards, it is fun for te entire family, and the trees are not too tall, so little ones can pick apples also.
Johnny Appleseed actually planted many of the apple trees in Mansfield Ohio, so there could be a possiblilty that you will pick from some of his original trees, but I am not positive about this.
