I decided to get this when it was on discount at my university's bookstore, and I couldn't be happier. My first mp3 player was a Rio Carbon, only 5 gigs of music, and no video support. While a solid unit that I was pleased with, this upgrade was huge in every possible way. The storage capability (30 gigs) is absolutely great, and with the file formatting, I have tons of both audio and video on here for traveling. The iPod is my music collection while driving, I've stopped carrying CDs entirely, they just sit at home. While traveling via plane, watching movies or tv shows on the iPod makes the experience infinitely more enjoyable and helps the time pass far more quickly. I believe that the interface is the main reason the iPod was able to catch on as a popular culture phenomenon. Simply put, it is incredibly easy to use, even for beginners to the technology department. If you are shopping for an MP3 player that you don't care to change the firmware on, this thing is absolutely phenomenal and worth every penny.
