The MacBook Pro, so far is great, the speed is great, the work space is good enough, but since Mac OS X Leopard comes with spaces, it increases workspace by alot. I had only had it for a month, so I will continue to update as I continue to use it.
There were bad experiences, but only with Windows on virtualization technology, which makes the Windows reactivate, to a point where I couldn't activate it anymore, so I have to stick with Boot Camp.
What makes the Macs good is you can run Mac OS and Windows, and you can run any OS using virtualization.
Of course the ratings are only my experience with it, and I always think Mac is better than other laptop brands. But I use Mac for productivity, and not usually gaming.
The only worst part of Apple's products is the Apple Care, it doesn't cover as much as other product vendors like Dell which offers Accidental damage, power surges, spills, etc.
But I have great experience with the MacBook Pro so far. Also the macbook Pro did really good on the ATI tools test on the GPU. Temporatures were quite low.
Update On Sep 27, 2008: BTW: Price is CAD, and I did use discount on it. Maybe I sohuld had made my overall rating higher, but oh well. But the MacbookPro really is great, when the newer MacBook Pros come out, automatic 5.0 overall rating ;)
But I only had it for one month, and the work I did on it, usually made it really slow.
The MacBook and Mac OS X controls the sound really well, and Windows on parallels, I can't say the same thing ;) but really good.
One thing I would hate is the sleeping while closing the screen, well I like to download stuff too, but I don't want to keep the screen on and opened. Also I like the Isight cam, but I wish it had better quality.
