I just purchased an Apple iMac, and to go with that I decided to upgrade to Apple's wireless Mighty Mouse...

With a name like Mighty Mouse, I am expecting something that is, well... mighty!

The mouse itself has a simple design that fits comfortably in the hand... and it runs amazingly smooth off of bluetooth technology. In fact I can point this mouse anywhere I want, within a 6 foot range, and it works flawlessly.

This mouse is also pretty amazing in the fact that it can run off either 1 or 2 AA batteries! Yes, that is right... if you do not have 2 batteries, it will run on one... this makes the mouse lighter, for travel, however you will have to replace the batteries more often. With 2 batteries the mouse runs for months, with one I am not so sure.

The mouse has a little scroll roller ball on the top and center so that the screen can easily be scrolled up and down as well as side to side without moving the mouse... it is a very cool feature. I can also click that ball to get my dashboard to come up on screen (weather, calendar, clock and calculator).

There are also two side buttons, that are not really buttons but when squeezed with perform another function... I do not like the feel of the side buttons...

Then there is the click of the mouse itself. The entire mouse clicks down... just one click... like a left click button. This would be fine except where is the right click?

I copy and paste all the time. I also like to open up new windows and tabs... It is soooo easy to do with a right click of the mouse, which this mighty mouse does not have... It is very inconvenient to have to click the control tab on the keyboard while clicking the mouse to get a right click. I am told that this mouse can have a right click in OS X by customizing the mouse... I will look into that.

Then there is just the moving aroundof the mouse itself. I feel like I need all this space to move my mouse from one side of the screen to the other... I need like a monster mouse pad for this mighty mouse! This may not be fair to negetively comment on since I have a large screen so my mouse has far to run... and since I really loved my laptop touch pad... but I find it just a pain...

The other thing is that the mouse takes a while to get moving when it is first turned on. It is kind of like waking up a sleep teen. I shake it and shake it and wait a sec, then shake it again and then it is off and running... If I leave it on and let it go to sleep, it starts right up, however. It is only sluggish when i actually flip the switch off and then on.

While I love the bluetooth technology, this mouse is just not worth the $69 price tag. In fact I am planning on replacing it with a wireless trackball mouse...
