I bought a 8oz Cinnamon Cider candle from a department store on a whim, mostly because I thought the packaging was so pretty. I love the elegant look of the Aromatique candles, and the light brown color of the Cinnamon Cider one matches my living room decor perfectly. When I actually burned the candle, I realized this company excells at a lot more than packaging.
The candle has a very strong scent. Eight ounces is not a huge candle, but I can burn it in one room and smell it through my entire home, even long after i've put it out. Although strong, the scent is not offensive, and is a very warm, home-y scent. The only problem was that it burned fast (or maybe I just burned it too often because I liked it so much). Also, the wick tends to build up a lot of soot, so you need to wipe it down each time before burning or you'll end up with soot all over the candle.
So, I went back to the department store to buy another one, and decided to try a bag of potpourri too. I was a little hesitant about the potpourri because it's expensive. It was hard to justify buying a $15 bag when I can get a bag at Walmart for $1. But oh, was it worth it!
The Aromatique potpourri is made of all sorts of different dried up plant matter. Scented woodchips, leaves, apples, oranges, cinnamon sticks...it's like a mini nature walk right in my bathroom! Yes, my bathroom is where I keep the potpourri, in a bowl by the sink. It makes my bathroom smell great...along with the rest of my house, because, like the candles, the potpourri is VERY strongly scented! I love it though.
I will be re-purchasing both the candles and potpourri. I'm thinking I might try the Christmas line next.
