Atlantis Resort in Paradise Island is a true, suck em in and bleed em dry resort. Once you check in, you NEVER have to leave, and if you don't, you sure do pay the price in the form of overpriced food, entertainment, very upscale shopping, the Casino, the list goes on. But, I LOVED it! There is so much to do and see and the fact that once you are in you never have to leave is great for families.

We booked on an email special and stayed in the lowest priced tower - the Coral Towers. The room was adequate size, had 2 beds and since we booked "run of house", there was a chance we would get an ocean view - We DID! Well, we did on our first stay, but our second our balcony overlooked the roof - but who spends time in the room anyway! Most importantly, the room and bathroom were very clean. The bathroom was a generous size and the toiletries were of a nice quality and plentiful.

The pools and slides were alot of fun for the kids. I can see coming without kids and having a blast too, just acting like kids. We did not come during high season and the slide areas were quite crowded so I would imagine that coming when children are out of school would be a chore, but still doable. There was entertainment at one pool, another zero entry which was quite and had some nice waterfalls, and several others which we just did not get to try.

The beach was my favorite part! Beautiful, clean sand. Chairs and umbrellas were available and for a small gratuity, one of the beach staff will move it wherever you like or got hunt out a chair for you should none be available. They were very friendly. I also loved the variety of beach "toys" available. Mind you, these were not part of Atlantis. Locals will rent you jetskis, the very ones that they "drove" to work that day, will take you on a banana boat ride (which we did), parasailing, glass bottom boats, etc. You could stay an entire week and not get bored.

Food - well, it was overpriced, but you have to expect that before you even book your reservation. I did find the outdoor poolside food palatable and not too over the top expensive. The restaurants inside the resort were all fabulous, especially the deli near the yacht club - good bang for your buck there.

All in all, I plan on going again and again!
