Due to static, we were unable to use our cordless phone anywhere near the computer. Since I spend a lot of time on the computer, I wanted to get a phone that we could use directly next to the computer. We also wanted to have a corded phone in the case of an emergency. I had an older corded phone that we never used. When I plugged it into the outlet however, it had even more static than the cordless phone.

My husband and I went out to Staples to look for a new phone. We found the AT&T Two Line corded phone. This phone had all the features we were looking for: a directory, speaker, headset capable, and caller ID. The only thing we didn't need was the second line. However, for the price, we couldn't pass it up. Also, if I ever decided to work from home, a second line would be great to have. Lastly, we certainly didn't have to enable the second line until we were ready to.

I was a bit nervous to plug the phone in. I was sure we were going to have static. To my amazement, it was completely static free. The sound quality of this phone is great and the extra features were just what we needed for a home phone.
